Reading Tarot Cards Intuitively
Using Your Intuition To Read Tarot Cards:
We all have intuition, though many people don't recognise it, therefore don't follow its guidance. Intuition is our innate ability to sense things in the world around us. It is our instinctive or unconscious knowing that has nothing to do with our cognitive abilities of reason and logic. Intuition is a gut instinct that little voice that tells us what to do or directs us to go a different way if we are about to put ourselves in danger or tells us what type of people are around us.
Being psychic is the apparent sensitivity to things beyond what is accepted as the normal range of perception. It can take many forms. Some people have the gift to hear things, known as clairaudience, some see things, known as clairvoyance, some know things without knowing how or why they know which is Claircognizance. We all have the ability to develop our psychic senses.
The stronger our intuitions develop the more accurate our readings become. Tarot cards are tools that help focus the intuition for those with intuitive skills. Listening to intuition comes easily to some people, while others may have to work harder to strengthen their connection.
People who are not open to the idea of the Tarot and intuition dismiss it as rubbish, they have a misconception of what a reading is. Tarot works on the current energy of the person being read for, so if the person does something different, the energy changes which in turn changes any possible outcome, which by the way, is all any outcome in tarot ever is.
A lot of people who read cards are already intuitive to an extent from very early on in their lives, which is why they gravitated to the tarot in the first place. Tarot itself is not magic, the person's energy is what creates that magical interaction between themselves and the cards. The person's connection to the cards, their intuition and interpretation makes the magic happen during a reading.
Like there are many ways to read cards; there are many tarot decks to choose from. When a person buys a tarot deck, it is usually the artwork that they are drawn too, the reading will be more effective if they can connect to the artwork on the cards. This is because the artwork gives the person a feeling based on what the pictures mean to them. The symbolism in the cards is enhanced by the affinity the person has to them.
The other thing that is important for that magical connection to the cards is the life force energy in our bodies. It's that energy in our bodies that circulates through our being and connects us to our spiritual essence. Life force is what gives us a will, a vibrancy and a spiritual connection to things outside of ourselves. This same energy is released when we touch the cards. Our energy is imparted into the cards by just putting our hands on them.
When we use the cards in a reading our energy flows into the cards from our hands because we consciously direct our focus to the cards for a reading. Some readers will have the client touch their cards in order to feel that person's energy; while other readers won't because they do not want to mix their energy with the people they are reading. It's up to you, the reader, to decide how you want to conduct your readings. If other people touch your cards, they need to be cleared after wards, there are many ways to do that.
Your intuition will tell you when to stop shuffling and how to choose the cards or for some readers, the cards will fly out of the deck or flip face up. Some readers use the other person's energy and have them shuffle and pick the cards for their reading. In either case, it is that same energy that drives the person to pick and shuffle the cards for the message they are about to receive. Do what feels natural to you.
The other thing is that the symbolic meaning of cards varies among readers. It depends on how their intuition interprets and relates to a particular card. For example, the death card for one reader may literally mean someone is going to pass; (this is rare) and for others it may mean the end of a particular period for a person in their life. So if someone goes to a reader and sees the death card it usually means death of the old self, or may mean the end of a relationship, lifestyle, or it can be the ending and beginning of something.
When you first start to read the tarot there may be confusion about the interpretation of a card. I have learnt that it's best not to get stuck on the traditional meaning of the cards, your intuition will tell you what the meaning of the card is for that particular reading.
There are readers who are also channelers and use spiritual guides to help them with readings. They ask their guides to come in and help them when they do readings for people. You do not have to have this ability to read cards.
What is important is that you are open enough to let your intuition work for and with you when you interpret the cards and their meanings. I have taught myself to read the cards, and doing so has helped me to strengthen my intuition. My point is do what feels natural to you.
